At Constitution Yacht Club, we believe the best racing happens when there are more boats on the line. To accomplish that, we have tweaked a few things so that everyone has a reason to show up, push hard, and have fun doing it.
For 2026, we’ve made some major upgrades to the Wednesday Night Racing Series—designed to grow participation, increase competition, and strengthen what makes this fleet special.
Introducing the Rookie Class
New to racing? This is your starting line.
The Rookie Class is built for sailors and crews with limited racing experience—lowering the barrier to entry and creating a more comfortable, safely competitive environment to learn.
Less pressure. More learning. Still racing.
Burden of Winning Adjustments
More winners + more competition = more fun
Each series just got a lot more important. Top 3 finishers from each series will carry a small time penalty into future series, keeping the fleet tighter and the competition wide open all season long.
Because at CYC, you earn it—and then you defend it.
Women at the Helm Series
Three races. One goal: grow the sport.
Each series will feature a Women at the Helm race, and boats that participate in all three will earn a season-long scoring advantage.
More opportunities. More leadership. A stronger fleet.
Harbor Hustle Races
Bigger fleets. More action.
Our Harbor Hustle races bring together boats from across the harbor for high-energy, combined-fleet racing.
These nights are louder, tighter, and some of the most fun racing of the season.
Why the Changes?
It’s about building a fleet where:
We have fun
New sailors feel welcome
Great sailors stay challenged
Everyone wants to come back next Wednesday
See you on the starting line.
